Reid SherardReid is President and CEO as well as one of the founders of Capital Growth Advisors, LLC (CapGrow). With more than 30 years of finance, loan origination and advisory experience, he has focused exclusively on the franchise and chain restaurant industry since 1986. Prior to launching CapGrow, Reid held several positions with Captec Financial Group, Inc., including Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing; member of the Board of Directors of Captec Net Lease Realty, Inc. (a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust); and President and co-founder of Captec Strategic Advisors, LLC. Reid was instrumental in growing Captec from a small equipment financing and leasing company to one of the largest financing firms in the franchise and chain restaurant industry. Reid also held several positions at Franchise Finance Corporation of America (now FFCA/GE Capital) including Vice President, Acquisitions. In that capacity, he directed the real estate marketing and closing activities of that company and was responsible for the acquisition of over $500 million of net leased restaurant properties. This financing activity helped the company achieve its initial public offering in 1994. Reid has been a speaker at franchise and chain restaurant conventions for many years, including numerous franchisor-sponsored conventions and meetings. |

Philip McDonoughPhil McDonough is a Managing Director and principal of Capital Growth Advisors, LLC (CapGrow). He directs the firm’s consulting services, providing exceptional assistance to businesses in the QSR/casual dining industry. Clients involved in merger and acquisition activity and valuations find Phil’s expertise and service invaluable. Phil has more than 22 years of finance, loan origination and advisory experience. During the last ten years, he has worked exclusively in the QSR/casual dining industry. He has successfully completed more than $250 million in new loans for more than 13 restaurant concepts and participated in more than 25 merger and acquisition transactions. Prior to joining CapGrow, Phil served as Managing Director for Captec Strategic Advisors and as Regional Marketing Vice President for Captec Financial Group. He served as Marketing Vice President for Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Corp. from 1996 to 2000. From 1986 to 1996, Phil provided corporate finance services and loan origination to middle market corporations for Fleet Financial and National Westminster Bank. Phil serves on the Board of Advisors to several clients including one of the largest Taco Bell/KFC franchisees in the country. |
Heather Wilson |
Heather WilsonHeather Wilson is Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for CapGrow responsible for developing new client relationships. With the last ten years focused solely on restaurant finance, she offers a valuable perspective to clients looking for advice on how to maximize their capital structure. In her previous role with CapGrow, Heather developed the company’s proprietary due diligence models for credit underwriting and valuation modeling for debt and equity as well as debt restructuring. These models streamline the underwriting process, providing efficient, quality analysis that clients use to make the most informed decisions. Before joining CapGrow, Heather was the Manager, Asset Servicing, with Captec Financial Group, Inc. In that capacity, she oversaw the Company’s Analytical Group, was responsible for trust reporting and financial statement analysis and the tracking of the $1.2 billion of assets serviced. In addition, she handled the group’s investor relations and was directly responsible for handling over $100 million in special asset accounts. From 1998 through 2000, Heather was a credit officer for Captec Financial Group. In that role, she underwrote more than $150 million in transactions across the franchise restaurant, retail, convenience and gas and healthcare industries. Heather spent two years in commercial lending with Comerica Bank where she was promoted through the ranks very quickly. While at Comerica, she completed an intensive credit training program that is hailed as one of the best among its competitors. Heather graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics. |
Cassandra Fletcher-Martin |
Cassandra Fletcher-MartinSenior Analyst for CapGrow, Cassandra Fletcher-Martin is responsible for all facets of the analytical process. She develops financial valuation models and performs detailed, strategic analysis that clients use to make the most informed decisions. Prior to joining CapGrow, Cassandra held multiple positions with MediaSpan Group where she sourced and negotiated strategic partnerships and acquisitions, developing detailed financial models and valuation scenarios for potential business development opportunities. In addition, she developed business plans and financial models for new lines of business and vertical markets, including managing the launch of new product initiatives and directing the company’s international sales and market expansion. Cassandra began her career in corporate banking with First of America Bank providing financial reporting and analysis, with a focus in its mortgage and real estate divisions. She has since held increasingly responsible positions across the financial, non-profit, media and technology industries. Cassandra holds more than 15 years practical experience in financial and strategic analysis and has served on the board of two emerging companies. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting and Economics. |
Patty Gillum |
Patty GillumPatty Gillum brings an eclectic background to the Administrative Assistant role at CapGrow. Whether managing the day-to-day office needs, tracking on-going client projects or conducting extensive research, she works to provide exceptional service for both CapGrow’s clients and team members. Prior to CapGrow, Patty amassed 13 years of management, customer service and trainer education consulting experience in the media software technology industry. As a former documentation editor and general reporter, she understands layout, design and online media. Her six years of working in an expanding bakery concept gives her insight into the specific challenges CapGrow’s clients face. With her varied work experience, “can-do” attitude and problem-solving ability, Patty is uniquely suited to support CapGrow’s team processes. Patty graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication with emphasis in Journalism. |
